Friedrich Zettl is an Austrian artist known for his expertise in painting, graphic art, and calligraphy. He began his artistic journey with Western painting, primarily using oils.Driven by a passion for Chinese culture and art, Zettl studied Sinology and conducted research at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) in Beijing. During this time, he transitioned to Chinese painting and wrote his dissertation on this art form.Zettl made history as the first European to study at the Central Art Academy in Beijing after the Cultural Revolution. He delved deeper into Chinese painting and completed his dissertation on the subject.
